My goodness, take it easy. Give the baby some time to adjust. It takes days. Be patient. Relax. Don't force anything. Let him make the advances not you. Let him have his space.

I wasn’t forcing anything on him at all, he was at the very front of his cage chirping at me so I said hi Buba very softly and he started beaking at me through the bars. Sorry if I came across as one of those people that overload their stressed out bird on its first day home. I was just talking to him when his body language said he wanted me to come over.

We made progress today! I was checking his bowl to see if he had eaten his sweet potato and he climbed right over to me and proceeded to follow me around the cage!

Yoshi has been settling in very well!
He has a little jungle on top of his cage with fresh bird safe branches from outside, a dish to bathe in and toys which is where he spends most of his time. He now steps up on a stick very well but he is still scared of hands.

He seems to have gotten attached to me and gets very excited when I enter the room. So I think he’s happy with me, although I did just get in HUGE trouble for trying to take a piece of Millet he decided he wanted.

His favourite treat is almonds atm and when he sees me with a piece he comes running over chirping! I got to put him in bed now but I shall post some pics tomorrow!

Yoshi hanging out in his travel cage enjoying a skewer with carrots, sweet potato, capsicum, celery and cauliflower leaves. He totally shuns chop so this is how he gets his veggies now!

I’m very happy with his progress. He steps up on a stick for me and trusts me. He contact calls if I leave the room and loves to be close to me our current issue is my arm and hands he seems to be very scared of them and will only accept a treat but does not want to be anywhere near them. I tried to convince him to step up on my arm for a treat and you could see he really wanted to but was to scared. I suspect this is from him watching his sisters and brothers being grabbed from the cage and then him himself when he was bought. Also probably from when they clipped his wings. We are working on it now and after a few training sessions he will put one foot on my arm before taking it back off.
