Emergency help needed to a persian cat in State College, PA!

This is a repost from FB from Metzger Animal Hospital in State College, PA.

We have an emergency situation at Metzgers right now. There is a Persian cat that desperately needs a blood transfusion. The problem is that Persians are blood type B, and almost all DSH cats are Type A. If you know of any Persian cats that are young, healthy and would be willing to save another cats life, please contact the hospital at 814-237-5333 and page Dr. Jennett, the vet on call. They will have to euthanize if no donor is found, and they can't afford to have it shipped from a blood bank. The plus for the donor is that they get a full panel of bloodwork for free. Thanks!

Awwww man, they are 5 hours away from me :(

I have 2 Persians that could help. Do you know how long they have to get the blood? I may e able to make a road trip on Saturday.

You should give them a call, might be one of those things where your vet can take the blood then transport it over!!

Darn, that's almost 4 hours from me and my Mom's Persian is 14 so I don't think he'd be a good candidate. Hopefully they can find someone!
