Juvenile bald eagle. Here is a picture guide showing molt progression through maturity.@melissasparrots - what is the interloper?
Possibly. Raptors can sometimes be nasty to other raptors. An eaglet would be a good meal and eliminate future competition in one move. He could have also been hoping to steal some food the parents brought to the nest.So it was a juvie Eagle. She really did not want this bird around. Would a juvie Eagle hurt the new babies?
It looks like a two to three year old juvie to me. Although I have no personal hands on eagle experience. Could have been a previous clutch or just as easily a random hungry youngster looking for a quick meal. From her last clutch?
Just started watching this current feed.
Amazing.
