DJ Feathers closed...very sad

Was checking for something at DJ Feathers when I was redirected to TC Feathers Aviary. Was very sad to read about the loss of Dave Kramer as well as beloved bird Jimmy. Scroll down a bit on the Facebook page:

I got my Dusky Conure, Jaden, from Tammy and Dave in 2007. Was very happy with Jaden and with Tammy & Dave. Good breeders and caring people.

I was very shocked when I read about it. My heart goes out to Tammy and her family.

It is very sad. Went to Tammy two days ago to give my condolences. A lot of work for her now to do it all by herself. Dave left 30 more birds behind. I hope Tammy will be able to run the store by herself.

It is her business now, she had to change the name, paperwork etc. She looked stressed . Yes, she is keeping the business, I believe the T stands for Tammy

I feel more for the innocent bird, how selfish of this human to take Jimmy's life.

Didn't know that. I couldn't find a lot of Dusky conure breeders when I was looking but out of the ones I found I preferred DJ.

It's heartbreaking to read this. I've kind of known them for a long while but didn't follow their Facebook. They used to belong to another online bird forum and they were one of the well respected breeders with a lot of advice on that forum. If I were to recommend a breeder, they were one of the breeders I'd recommend. RIP Dave and Jimmy.

Sad but selfish to take the poor bird with him!

It is very sad that they are both gone and especially sad that he took Jimmy with him but when someone is in VERY deep depression there is not always an explanation for why they do the things they do. People have taken family members and/or strangers with them.
