What do you do with the leftover pieces of wood from projects? Don't throw them away! Make toy hangers out of them. I use theses to hang toys from the sides of the cages, instead of everything from the top. And serves as a smaller perch for the smaller birds. 20161106_121210_wm.jpg
This is how easy it is to make toy hangers. Each piece of grape wood is 2 1/2 to 3 inches long. These 4 took less than 20 minutes to complete. All hardware is SS.
1. Drill holes in both ends slightly smaller than the hardware you plan to use. The sizes will differ on each end. 20161106_122551_wm.jpg
20161106_123039_wm.jpg 2. Using a hanger bolt driver, insert your hanger bolt into the designated end. You can do it with a couple of nuts, but it is worth buying the driver. Believe me!!! 20161106_123113_wm.jpg
20161106_123452_wm.jpg 3. Screw the eye bolt into its designated end.
4. Add the washers and mount to the side of the cage then hang a toy!

Oh! Nice idea Heather!! The Hanger Bolt Driver Tool is a wonderful item to use for inserting them into the wood.

Thanks for sharing!

Will you post a pic of how you used it on your fids cage?

Literally just put them somewhere that a toy would go nicely above a perch or platform. I can't get any decent pictures of some I have set lower in the cages, but this is the idea. 20161116_204343.jpg 20161116_204618.jpg
