Urgent Dehydrated chick

I have a 13 day old Parrotlett I had to pull. He is dehydrated. I can't get him to vet until tomorrow because vet is out of town. Please help me! I have given Pedialyte once

how many CC"s did you give? What's his weight in grams? He can have more every hour,, Sub Q fluids is good also, but you must have LRS and syringes on hand, and be experienced in doing this...

2 cc of Pedialyte and 11.9 grams. I would rather not do SQ. He is takig it orally without problem. How long before I will see improvement and when to start formula again. Thanks so much.

An hour has passed and I'm reluctant to give more Pedialyte because crop has only emptied about half way. The dehydration has slowed his digestive tract down quite a bit.

Much better. Not near as red. I've given 3 Pedialyte feedings. Last one just a few minutes ago. Movement in crop is visible now. But I would like to ask if you may know when I need to start formula again. And at what percent. Also there are 3 other chicks still with parents should I pull them. The youngest is only 3 days. And thanks so much for responding.

I do not think you can send private messages till you have either a certain amount of posts or something along those lines. I will have another look to see who is on and try to remember who is good with this stuff

You can mix the formula with some Pedialyte. I would not pull chicks that are eating with the parents.

Thank you. Can I start formula at next feeding? How often? And at 10% solid?

Glad his crop is moving, I would thin the formula 50 percent liquid and 50 percent dry formula for the night..your seeing the vet tomorrow,, so see what they say. Keep baby warm, cold babies equals slow crops....prayers and hugs!

He's back looking not so good. Crop is moving but very slow. Gave Pedialyte at 10:00pm and crop still hasn't emptied completely. I have tried everything I know to do. Just praying he makes it until vet appointment.
