deformed feet?- Sad Update Post #8

hi all
i have a baby budgie (2 weeks, i think) whome seems to have quite some problems, my main worry is his feet. they look ridiculously small and his toes are twisted awfully, i'll do my best to explain:

so budgies have 2 front toes and 2 back toes, 1 front toe is longer than the other. that toe seems to be sideward facing inward. the toe that should be next to it is curving over it and the 2 back toes are as well, he walks on the side of his feet, or so it looks...

when i put out my finger he clasps it correctly with his right foot, but not his left. he also looks too old too still only have some head and wings feathers and there seems to be a tiny dot of blood on his crop. his mom does have an aggressive past and has had deformed, but not this bad, chicks. don't know who the dad is since there are three identically coloured birds - and hes one...

can this be corrected and how?

also, is there any chance that i could accidentally introduce a sickness to our indoor birds (cockateil and soon to be conure) by being around one in the big cage? i really what to help him, but cant risk my others getting ill

Any new bird needs to be in quartine for 30 days that helps to see if there are problems or illness ,wouldnt put them in the same cage, let them get to know each other thru putting them in separate cages, close to each other. I would go to the vets to check the budgie out

Can you post a photo of your baby's feet?
There may be others who may have experience with a similar situation who can advise you.

kinda sounds like my Sweet Pea's feet. if I can get her to sit still long enough to snap some pictures. her front toe cross over her other front toe. she gets around pretty good. the only I can suggest is you may have to clip those nails a little more often. so start playing with those feet now so you can clip those nails later without a big fuss.

thanks for your advice, we went to the vet and apparently since he's so young his tendons are still growing and it shouldn't be a problem yet one must keep an eye on the bird. Sadly he passed away about 2 days after the vet visit from (as far as we can tell from the symptoms) candidiasis.

thank you all, for anyone who wants to know what it looked like, rocky'smom's sweetpea is very similar except his outer back toe was crossing over the outer front toe that was crossing over the inner front toe.
