From what I know birds need natural sunlight for vitamin D production, hormone balance, organ, skin and feather health with a minimum of 30 minutes of direct sunlight exposure outside (seeing as glass blocks UVB rays) per week when the weather permits... In winter I can't provide natural sunlight where I live. Should I look into providing a florescent bulb or will the vitamin D from pellets and foods that are natural high in vitamin D be sufficient? If you live in a colder climate what do you do? Thanks
