Welp, we added a new sun conure to our menagerie! Usually I'm the one who says no but, (s)he was just too sweet not to bring home.

Currently hiding out in our bedroom so that our CAG doesn't get upset, but hopefully our new friend will be in the main room with everyone else soon.

Now, the tricky bit - picking a name without being sure of the sex yet...

You have unfortunately fallen ill with the very dangerous (and contagious) MBS (multiple bird syndrome) which is known to spread like wildfire. The symptom usually includes an overly cute and friendly avian and not being able to walk away. Congratulations! He/she is a cutie.

Our sun is called Tikki though we usually call him Tikki the Tyrant because he has a mind of his own and doesn't care who knows it.

They are shirt crawlers so I'd suggest you always wear a light/old t-shirt with another on top so that your fid can shirt crawl without holding on to skin or other physical items usually found inside a shirt. Just an owie experience.

Yep - usually see them peeking out of the shirt of a lot of people I see at the bird store I go to.

Names that crossed my mind: Lovie or Mischief. Mischief could always be broken down to Miss Chief or just Chief depending on the sex.

Be prepared to make Walgreens your friend, I go there about once a month to get more t shirts.

If you want anything to have that expensive "distressed" look that is considered fashionable just let your little one play with it or wear the item. My husband has what he calls "bird shirts" which he'll change into if he knows Tikki is going to keep him company. Buttons go and for some reason the seams on the shoulders of knit shirts are a favourite "holy" place. Watch out for anything with zippers too.
