Conure flying away from us

Good morning to all. I just joined the forum!

I am new to birds. I just got a Green Cheek Conure - Rio! he is just a 2 months old.
I have no clue where to start with training. When out of the cage he is more interested in flying about than being with us.

May you kindly help?

As with all fids, it takes time and patience to gain their trust and for them to bond to you.

Does Rio have a large cage? Is there plenty of activities for Rio inside his cage? How much time does he spend out of his cage etc?

Is Rio afraid of hands? Have you tried target training?

Please try to explain what you are trying to achieve and I am sure you will receive lots of help here! Btw... we love pictures!

It sounds like he is just enjoying his ability to fly. Perfectly normal.
