had a salad that had a smashed up avocado in it, we havent had avocados for a long time, so i forgot, and let him eat my salad with me as i always do. i didnt remember that avocado was in there until i went in the kitchen to clean up
i didnt pay attention to what he ate, but, how poisonous IS avocado? do i need to take him to vet? he's fine now, playing and flying around as usual.

Call your vet. I just read an artical that said the toxin in Avacado causes cardiac arrest and death in parrots. It said it depended on how ripe it is and how close to skin and pit the flesh is as to how toxic it would be. I hope your guy didn't eat any but I would be on phone to vet now to see if charcoal treatment is in order. Keep us posted on how he is
