This is what is known as the cockatoo fang. It's what happens when a bird (Tika) has a slight scissor beak so the mandibles don't line up exactly so there is uneven wear on one side. Resulting is a pretty wicked tooth on the bottom beak. This is the point responsible for most of the really bad bites I've had over the years.

Oh just admit it already, John. You have a HUGE crush on Amanda and you do love Tika probably cause he's a little crusty but still lovable just like you.

I forgot - Tika is also quite direct about his feelings ... just like his non-feathered parront.

Luv Bug has a little point on both sides of her lower beak, but it's even. It makes a wide U shape.

Ah....when I first got Freddy I wasn't sure if something was wrong with his beak. Then the vet said no its supposed to look like that. Lol I thought his beak had a break in it.

John, they are beautiful birds. Is that their bird room in the background? It looks like it's all wood....that's cool! I had wanted to ask...do they stay in their bird room most of the time or do they spend time in the other parts of the house too?

The little birds never come upstairs. The cockatoos come upstairs for dinner and a shower. That's it. They live downstairs. But then again so do I. The bird room is 50% of the house. They've got enough.

Every time I check the updates on this thread I look at their picture again. Both adorable but you're right, she is gorgeous.
