Cockatiel voice

My 8 month old Oliver is quite the chatter box.... If you know what you're listening for He's got several little phrases but his little voice is not clear at all. Is this something that develops with age or is each cockatiel different in the "clarity" of their speech? I know cockatiels aren't known for their talking abilities, I was just wondering....

At 8 months, his voice will probably stay mostly the same. You will get better st understanding him, and he may get a little better at speaking, but in general cockatiels have high, scratchy sounding voices.

...agreed. They also tend to "singsong" their words in many cases...both Sunshine and Igor do that...
