Urgent Cockatiel swollen left eye

Hello, I just found out that my cockatiel looks sick.
Well I don't know much, but I think what started it all is that I heard a hard sounding bang in the middle of the night and I assumed that was my cockatiel that made that noise.
Then the next morning her beak was covered in blood, which came from her nose. I cleaned it off, but her beak turned black and blue.
So then this happened.

There is no problem with her right eye.
Her left one is showing the swollen part around her eye and has a watery eye, which she can open but mostly keeps it shut and uses only her right eye. She eats and poops well, acts normally, and interacts with my other bird normally as well.

I'm planning to take her to an avian vet.
And I'm wondering what do you guys think of this and if I need to do anything before taking her to a vet.

Thanks for your time.

Hello and welcome!

Glad you found us. I would wait to see what the vet says. We all can ask a lot of questions and make a lot of suppositions, but hopefully your vet can get you in and see the whole picture.

Good luck! When she's feeling better, post more photos and tell us about your baby. :)

I hope she's okay. It sounds like she banged her face on something? Maybe had a night fright? I would get her to a vet right away. It looks sore.

Yikes, that looks bad. It's good that she's acting normal, but that looks severe enough that she might even have a fracture of the orbital bones around her eye socket. I'd try to keep her as quiet and stress-free as possible until you can get her assessed. Please make sure the vet prescribes pain medication.

Birds are smart animals, they can hide symptoms of illness really good until its too late, take her to the vet ASAP. Hope she feels better, please keep us posted.
