Strolling the yard
I just got my first cockatiel, and he huffs. Not sure how to explain it, but it's kind of like a quick sigh. He opens his mouth and makes this noise. I know it's not hissing, because I've seen him his, and other cockatiels hiss before, and it's different, he doesn't charge anyone when he makes this noise, nothing like that. He just lets out air very quickly. I don't think it's a breathing problem. He made the noise when I first brought him home, he was sitting in his cage huffing. But just today I was taking a picture of him and he did it again. I'm not sure if it means he's scared, annoyed, or angry. Or if it's just the way he breathes some times? Anyone else's bird do this? What does it mean?
