You'd still need the T ...... a simple stick would have a bird hanging sideways.....not conducive to comfort.

What do you use?

Literally a mini baseball bat. :)
Explain to me why the T is needed.

I have a video teaching Kailua the stick. I will find it when at my desktop. :)

Personally I really like the T idea. It would be useful when Echo is in one of his moods.

@Macawnutz I think the T just makes it harder for them to get ya. Hopefully some can explain it better than me. @JLcribber comes to mind. Ive heard of people using 2 sticks too. My problem with sticks is they can so easily get to your hand which totally defeats the purpose.

Not with this one! Acrylic stops him.

I was wondering what that was for. I thought with the T onse you're suppose to keep the T vertical so they couldn't get ya? I've never use one so I don't know. I'm sure there are so tricksters thou that would still try!! :eeeek:

FINALLY you have a proper weapon my dear. :hug8: Thank you for making it for her @Clueless

You will find Terri that as you become a better "stick handler" that you won't need that guard (great adaptation) and it will even start getting in the way. Time will tell. You are going to love it. Once the monster resigns himself to it. :)

You keep the parrot ABOVE the flesh and most parrots don't want to climb DOWN a stick to get to you.....

Without the T and on a sideways stick, he could easily charge me....

And should they try to climb down you "stick handle" them (tilt it the other way. Spin it around. Whatever works in your situation).

Gretzky didn't score 50 goals right away. He had to practise a little.

I was hoping my dad could have made one based on the image of yours, but the cancer took him too fast. He did make Wasabi a stand three or four yrs ago - which W has rejected, of course. But I can't part with it.

Wasabi will have to be transferred like Secret is, in the 2nd photo. No way W would not bite me if we tried the first configuration. Plus, Wasabi is a big boy. He's not fat - I have cut down on the treats to slim him down. He is just a big bird.

I'll have to transfer him sideways. I'll need to be able to hold him out a bit from me if needed. I don't remember what he weighed last check.

I'll get you more pictures.

I put both birds on top of the T. It keeps then from climbing DOWN the pole to get you. Even hubby transfers Secret without being bit that way. The bird won't go down but that bird DOES go sideways.

If you try to transport Wasabi sideways though that acrylic should help protect your skin....but he may be freaked out by the stick on the end that he will see.

As of March 30, Wasabi weighed 476 grams. I really need to train him to not fear a scale.
