Cleaning a rope toy

Just a quick thing. I was going through my supply of toys, and I have one of those coiled cotton rope "boing" toys. It's been in storage for a while, so it smells little musty...which is what I'm concerned about. I sprayed it down with white vinegar and water and let it soak in. Gave it a good rinse. Is it safe to use?

Note: I will trim off any loose strings. This is not a toy for Ari's cage. This is for her java tree, so she will be supervised when using it.

Ooooo...I never thought of doing this with a rope toy! Thank you! Do you use any specific dishwasher soap? Just thinking about safety for her.
