I live in Mesa Arizona, Paradise valley is about an hour away,,yes, it's an actual town.....its where the " rich people " live.

Papa's family were tenant farmer's - I'm guessing that's where the "shepherd" part came in. I don't think Papa saw sea until he enlisted f/WWI.
