As the hormones subside it will fade a little bit but don't expect the cere to look like it did previously.

Some discoloration will remain, yes. It wont be quite as dark though.

Thank you :) Sometimes it looks like it is dark chocolate brown and I wondered if it was normal, as I thought it was supposed to be tan/cinnamon brown :p

This is interesting because when I took my little green budgie to the vet last week they told me he was a girl. But his cere is light pink he’s only maybe 4 months old

Common misconception.... if the cere remains pink, definitely a male! If it turns white (even if there's a bit of blue), then a hen!

This is a picture of my 2 budgies. That’s the green one. The pet store I got him from said he was a male so we named him hermes and that’s his girlfriend Athena. And I figured she may be a girl lol can you confirm for me please

Meet Hooper little trooper:) 14 weeks tomorrow :)
Can you guess if the little one is a female or male? I keep using the guide here and some days I think it’s a boy but on other days I think it’s a girl because of the “visible white around the nasal rings”!

@SinaB I would guess a young male! :)
Well thank you for your opinion, good to know! I have gone through the whole trail of this forum and I got to be convinced too that it’s a he...until I got thrown off by someone mentioning females have an aggressive bite and boy I recall how this little fluff bit me the first two times he got on my finger willingly! I have had a male budgie in the past, adopted him because his mama had to move back to her country and yes he would bite but more of a nibble. So now I just have to wait unless you could let me know how did you guess? Much appreciated:)
