Welcome to the neighborhood!
It is with great pleasure that I introduce the Celebirdy for the Month of December, 2015
Pip!
Pip!
Here is what Ann had to say about the cutie pie Pip!
Ohhhh Pip is so honoured Thanks! On to the questions!1. How did you acquire your bird?
Hubby and I were at the breeder to meet the Meyers available...but when we got there this little birdie kept following me inside her cage and giving little "pip pip" sounds. I asked if we could handle her (she was from an older clutch) and she immediately hopped out and onto my hands and clung (I mean really clung) to my fingers...so she came home with us We didn't even get a chance to look at the Meyers lol.
2. What is your bird's name, age and sex?
We called her Pip because of the sounds she made at the breeder's place. She's about 4-5 months old.
3. Does your bird do any special tricks?
Is eating a trick? She can eat and eat and not gain a single gram of weight...bottomless pit lol. She has learned to say a few words "Pip pip" and "hi".
4. What are some of your bird's favorite foods?
I think the question should be what isn't a favourite food She eats anything and everything but especially loves grapes.
5. What is the funniest thing your bird has done?
She'll wear a hat
She also gets herself stuck while monkeying around...usually it's in the splits and then someone has to come and save her.
6. How has your bird enriched your life?
If it wasn't for my birds life would just be work work work 24/7. I've noticed an increase in productivity when I take a break to play with them
7. What would you tell people who are considering this species?
Don't believe all the stereotypes, every birdie has their own personality. I was told senegals weren't good talkers (she has already learned a few words in the short time I've had her), that they were one-person birds (she loves everyone) and that they weren't cuddly (she loves to snuggle).
8. What is the activity and noise level of your bird?
She is super duper active. Toys don't have be hung "logically" for her to play with. For instance, my tiels usually don't touch a toy unless there is easy access to it (like a perch near by)...Pip can reach any toy anywhere and even hang upside-down for hours playing with it. She's very quiet aside from a short burst of squawks at dusk and dawn.
9. What are some of your bird's quirks?
She'll mistake hair for seagrass and yank...ouch. Loves to play hanging upside down. Loves to snuggle beside my neck while I work (hours and hours).
10. If your bird talks, what is the most surprising word or sentence it has said?
So far just "hi"...was very unexpected when she said it
11. What is your bird’s favorite treat?
Almonds, cashews, spray millet, nutriberries.
