Canary eats all day?

I had to build a special bowl to stop her from nesting in her food and snacking all day (pooping in her food.) Now she spends about 3/4 hours standing on her food bowl and eating, the other time flying around her cage to choose toys or millet.
I worry this is unhealthy, but I'm unsure about limiting her food access to certain hours of the day being a good idea?

Does she usually play with her toys? There are only so many things that she can do in her cage, and eating is one of them. Does she eat anything besides seed?

I give her veggies, ect, but she will eat all of them and then go back to her seed. She will play with a disco ball toy she has from time to time, but prefers eating all day
