I have a 7 month old cockatiel and a few months old rabbit that is currently sick with a bacterial infection and my bird likes to bite things around the house and he bit a piece of the saw dust I would like to know if the bacteria can spread from rabbit to bird

You did not say what kind of bacterial infection. It's very unlikely that your bird will catch anything from the rabbit. Very very different animals.

Bacteria can spread. Your job is to find the source and eliminate it.

I know of two exceptions to bacteria not spreading from a rabbit to a bird. There may be more. One is Pasteurella and the other is MRSA. MRSA is pretty universally able to spread from animal to animal and Pasteurella is common to most mammals and deadly for birds. So just don't let them interact - at all.
