My black headed caique will be 9 on the 28th of this month. He weighted 177 this morning. He weighs more now than ever before, maybe I am just feeding him to much! LOL

Joey will be 5 in March. Aftertoday's breakfast 168 grams.
Mine are all around 4 years old. The weigh between 150 and 190 with the white-bellieds being bigger. That reminds me I should weigh them. I don't have a regular schedule but I do try and do it periodically.

I was thinking about you and Chickie the last time I weigh Eliy. She loves to drink a lot of juice, and water do weigh a lot in their bodies.
Eliy gain weigh with 10 gr after she had drank her carrot juice, and your cakes are drinking a lot too? I mean it can be water, not necessarily fat over weigh.
I have noticed that people who got this birds from Gloria have heavy caiques. She raises nice fat ones. My BHC female is smaller though.
Kai has been between 170 and 180 grams since he was about 2. Today he is 175grams.
I guess he's sorta a little guy compared to JoJo
But I'm not sure if 10 grams here or there are really visibly noticeable?

After dinner she weighs 222 grams! Her keel bone is not visible and she has breasts...
I almost got mine from Gloria. We had a very nice conversation and she told me about JoJo and Chickie and said if I wanted to know what they were like I should watch their YouTube videos
So does it seem that about 2 years old is when they reach their adult weight? Diego is having a growth spurt. I think it's because he's finally able to fly full out because he's eating so much! Both have been steady at 150g for a long time, but he's up to 158 this week!
Petunia is from Gloria, and she's 154g at 8 months.
I've never weighed Kia after eating. I don't really weigh him all that much. I wonder if there would be that much a variation with him too? That's a lot of grams difference than the normal weight. I'm going to start weighing him more often and see.
This was a good reminder to weigh them. Maybe I remembered things wrong because 5 different caiques weighed in between 164 and 175 grams. I looked at my records and this is about what mine average.

I dont weigh mine at all. Im sure the vet does when they go for checkups.
I am a cyclist, so I eat like a horse. Calories out = calories in. I use the same approach with my babies. Big flights, lots of playtime and branches to destroy all day
They get plenty of food, but only the good stuff. so far no vet has ever told me my birds are overweight.
( Though One did make a pass at Thumper)
