Urgent Budgies eye is swollen

He keeps itching it...Could it be that when he was mounting, he scratched too much and it turned red

Update: I sprayed him in chamomile tea and he took a bath...The eye is looking a little better.

The eye seems normal but the surrounding parts have no feathers, he is rubbing both of his eyes on perches and I can see pin feathers growing in the bald part under his eyelid. And some on the other eyelid. I'm guessing he is going through a miserable molt. Thankfully, he just ate and is sleeping.

I am sorry that your budgie is ill. Just so you know for the future, it is not a good idea to spray a bird with tea. Especially not in the face/eyes.

I didn't spray him with tea on the face or directly at him, I just gave him a gentle mist from above to help stop the itching...The itching stopped and now he is back to normal.

I would still take him to the vet when they open. Just to have him looked at to be sure he´s ok.
