So my one budgie is currently being treated for pneumonia. I've been so focused on her I haven't been paying as much attention to my boy, and today when I was giving him some treats I saw that his beak is VERY long. I've never seen a budgie beak like that, and I'm ashamed I didn't notice it. The long part blends in with the yellow feathers around his face, but I still should have seen this before now. i watched the amount of trouble he had eating and I'm very worried. I'm making a vet appointment to at least get it trimmed tommorow when my vet opens, but does anyone know the possible causes behind the overgrown beak? If there are any illnesses that could cause it? He has a lot of natural wood perches and a cuttlebone, do I need to put in more? Though I was hoping not to have two vet bills within less than a week of each other I suppose that is how it goes sometimes.
