Cutest Bird Ever!!!
First of all, I'm not sure how many people on here have a planted tank with CO2 injection! But I just had to complain.
I've been dealing with black beard algae (left over infestation from before the CO2 injection) and was excited because it was finally starting to go away! One thing often recommended to me for it is to increase the co2 content in the water, so I upped my flow rate by just a little (like less than 1 bubble per second to maybe 1.5).
Well....I just had a cheap plastic bubble counter because I'm sort of a newbie to this whole planted tank business...I learned my lesson! The bubble counter completely cracked under the pressure, so right now I am operating with zero CO2 and am working with liquid dosing to at least keep my plants as green as possible (basically just java fern and an anubias). I'm super bummed, especially because now I feel like I don't know what to do to replace it! I don't want to spend a ton on a fancy one, but I also don't want to buy a new bubble counter every few months. I tried to make a homemade one with a jelly jar, and even though I drilled the holes in the lid as small as possible, I'm still getting too much leakage to actually get it to pump through my diffuser.
So...this is mostly just a rant, but if anyone has any suggestions, I wouldn't be opposed to hearing them
