I have a Macaw "Tacho" he is 38 years old. He is a rescue I have shared his life for ten years. When he arrived he was missing three toes so he is a fall risk. I have adapted his home for this. The vet said she is pretty sure he suffered a back injury years ago so he can't fly but 5 or 6 ft to land. He fell months ago and broke off a piece of his beak on the side. Now I noticed his beak is slightly scissoring. My vet retired and left our community. The nearest Avian care is 82 miles away. I will take him but mean while I was wondering if any of you have thoughts on what I can do to prevent, stop, care for his situation. Thank you to all who read this.
