Hi everyone. I have been very interested in obtaining a pair of rosey bourkes for my outdoor aviary. Will rosey bourkes be okay cohabitating with diamond doves?

Thanks!

My understanding it yes- but I don't have actual experience with either. Hopefully others can answer.

@Monica ? @Birdbabe ?

If Bourkes are calm birds,,,I don't know,,and the aviary is big enough, it may ok..the doves will most likely be on the ground foraging most of the time ,and the Bourkes would be up perching in the foliage and branches..so,,it seems they shouldn't bother each other..the doves will perch at night..they should be ok..

Some bourkes also enjoy being on the ground running around.

I don't see any issue as long as the cage is large enough to house both species and they are fed a healthy diet.

Yes. They are compatible and in fact these are 2 good species to house together. Monica is right, they may both run the ground together but they’re mellow.
