image.jpeg The last 70+ blocks of the 300ish I've made this week are dyed and drying. This is what you do when you have 4 macaws & an Amazon, especially if your GW mulches up to 10 blocks per day. The holes on the sides are for pine nuts, crinkle paper, etc.: no plain pine blocks here.

That's a lot of work. How long will 300 blocks last?

Impressive, that sounds like a lot of work! :D

Did you dye them with food colouring?

You count them? Now I just cut them by weight (one drum size plastic bag) which is about six 8ft 2x4s.

I use Vitakritter dyes.

They'll last several weeks, although Annie destroyed 10 blocks by herself yesterday. In an hour.

I count them because I drill holes in different places for different hanging set ups, drill holes for pine nuts so each bird will get an equal number of those goody blocks, and I use 8 colors, so I can tell at a glance how many I have and can estimate how long they'll last.

I love this. I just bought some wood to cut up and was looking for inspiration. I guess I will be dying the blocks now. What do you use for connections? I have only found zink chains ( I didn't buy it) and stainless steel wire which I did buy.
