Wow, just wow! That's amazing that you've had him since he was tiny and for that long!
Spill the details of life with the little guy! We've had ours about 6 years and they're older dudes also. We did the sex testing because vet said it takes a while and if they get sick, it gives the vet an edge to know it's not egg related. I think it was just a drop of blood for it if memory serves me.
We almost did it last time we did blood, but it had to be sent to a different lab, and was already in the tube for the other lab. Next time we may. I just really think he is a boy. He is very large for a BFA, weighs about 600 gm. Vet says he is not fat as he is pretty tall. He is also so colorful, which is a trait of the males. And, he seems to prefer females, but I don't really know if that means anything.
It has been a great time having Sammy all these years. He is pretty mellow, but plays hard with my husband. He is my bird. I had him before my husband, so he had to get used to him. Now he loves him. Wouldn't trade the last 34 years for anything!

He wrestles with his fingers, runs back and forth on the playtop while my husband rings his bells. He loves bells! He always has to grab the bell you are touching, so he dashes around like a little crazy green chicken. He plays catch with a rolled up paper bag. And he throws really good. He can do that for a long time. He also plays tug of war with the rope toys. Then he hides behind the ropes and runs out with wings out laughing. He really is a great entertainer. Then, he will ring all the bells in order while laughing and whistling.
He comes on the table with us and runs back and forth between us for scratches. Then, he dances on the placemat for a cookie. That is when I cut his nails and trim his wings. He lets me do little trims between vet visits.
