Birds are weird

Slade decided he was tired of my crap and just climbed up onto me and snuggled right in. We cuddled for a bit then he decided that I must of looked hungry because he beelined for my mouth and trying to regurgitate. I stopped him thankfully but it was. . . .unexpected. He looked at me like I was nuts then when right back to cuddling.

He was full on laying down on me, hasn't ever done that before. He wanted my shoulder but I said no since I don't want to risk my face if he gets snappy. I promised him once we can do step ups on hands without incident (we use a perch now) then I would consider the shoulder.

Slade is a cutie and he adores you. I find that most Pois can be a bit weird. I call them "goofballs" and that word is especially appropriate when it comes to my red-bellied parrots. My Senegal is silly but not a "goofball" like the red-bellies.

He is definitely different than Ollie and Diggle haha. I know in my heart of hearts pois are my forever birds. I will always have one in my life as long as I can. I'm so glad I adopted him and gave him that chance he needed. I'm still working on our trust bond but I'm not forcing a single thing. I know he loves me and I love him and we will get there.
