This morning I woke up to find one of my birds chewing on the ‘cage cover’ which was just a beach towel, I quickly took it off the cage and put it away. No going to use it again but should I be worried I’m pretty sure the materials were polyester, nylon and maybe cotton.

The main thing will be if they ingested any. Just watch that they are eating, drinking, and monitor their droppings

As Shawna said, the worry would be if they ingested enough to cause an impaction. Do you have an extra bed sheet? Usually they are very smooth and difficult for small birds to pull threads from.
