Big mistake help

So I need help. My birdie mommy who I bought Smeagol from said to squirt him with water he loves that. So I did that in the cage but he was afraid . She did not say spray him on my lap. Now he hesitates coming to me. I'm depressed. How do I get him to see it was a mistake?

Just give him a day or two or three. Talk to him and interact with him and don't force him to come to you or out of the cage. Offer him special treats. He will get over it.

We all make mistakes with our birds at some point. They tend to be very forgiving. Just give him time- and treats. And did she mean "mist" rather than "squirt"?

Whenever you go near his cage, or even through that room, drop a small treat in his food bowl.
