Beak trouble! pls advise!

Just went to check on Nedd, when I saw part of him beak had peeled off. I think this may have done it while chewing. Is this serious, or is it a natural trimming process. Pls help, I'm not sure what to do.

Beaks are somewhat like fingernails. They flake and peel. The best they look is when a bird is young.

The beak does flake and peel. I noticed it on a few of my birds lately..you can rub some vitamin E oil on it ..
