Urgent Banded dove in the yard

a co worker has a banded dove that has been hanging out in her yard for 3 days. It has two bands, a blue one on one leg and a regular metal band on the other. She has been feeding it. It is uninjured and has flown to a neighbors roof and back She can get within a foot of it and if she sits and talks, the bird is very interested. It won’t step up. How can it be caught while folks are looking for the owner? Lots of hawks in the area. It is a beautiful fully feathered dove
Any advice appreciated.

Throw a big blanket or towel over it, or use a bigger landing net, like this one:

And be two when you do it. One that gets the doves attention, and one that catch it.

Some doves are banded for research. You should check into that and report if possible for data.

Yes, A big net could get her, if you do get her, then call a wildlife rehabilitation center. They could find the owner, if they want her back, or keep her at the center, teach her to be a dove, remove the bands, and release her.
