This morning, my husband and I placed a deposit on a male cape hatched 1/1/17. We do not have a name picked out for him yet, but like Murphy, Toby, and Mingus (Gus for short).

Apparently I have lost my mind. We just rescued a caique a few weeks ago (who we think is 21!) and already had two conures. Capes have been on my bucket list since I was a teenager, so it's a little surreal to think this is finally happening. Hopefully he will get to come home in the next 6-8 weeks!

Yep...not quite set up a bucket list but got to get on that.

Your baby is a cutie! Going to be long weeks but you have time to set up his cage & things

Congrats. If I had the extra $$ and more space I would get a Cape or a Ruppell's.
He is very cute.
Also, thank you for rescuing the Caique!

Goodness, the caique (Beckett) is just the sweetest thing. He was at a bird fair (that I went to so I could get supplies for my incoming Cape and my conures) and I just couldn't leave him there. Nobody knew anything about him at all. I'm glad we brought him home.

Yes, the Cape will have to be shipped. I'm a little nervous about it, but I'm told they do quite well.

I've had a bird shipped to me and it went fine. I'd do it again too :) they just take a few more days to settle in and need a vet checkup right away to be sure they're ok.
I've had other animals shipped and they turned out fine too.
Yes, I still did worry..ask my husband, I was a nervous wreck! :D

My Dusky conure, Jaden Jalen, was shipped from Virginia to CA and Kosmo, my Lagotto Romagnolo, was shipped from Hungary. I was very nervous and then very relieved when they arrived safely. There were no issues except for a mistake online regarding Kosmo's flight (flight info hadn't been updated when I checked) and also me being very worried.

Cute Cape and cute name! He seems to like to pose for photos. I assume he's the one in the front.
