Does anyone know if I can mix Kesium with juice? I've been able to give it mixed with a little water(advised by vet) for a while but now he knows it tastes bad and wont even come near me when I have it, juice would hide the taste but I don't know if it will have a bad effect on the antibiotic?

@Hankmacaw @Macawnutz

I've tagged two folks that might know.

Is it a powder?

My best success has been Secret's meds on her chop.

If you can mix it with water you can mix it into juice. Stay away from acidic juices.

It's obviously water soluble. If it can be taken with food you can also absorb a dose into into a piece of fruit or other moist food. Only give what you know the bird will eat completely so it gets a full dose.

Kesium is a broad spectrum antibiotic. A combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.

@EmmaAndEiffel Were you given tablets that you had to crush up and dilute with water or did the vet compound the medication for you? Are you administering it via syringe or in the water?
