Already damage on follicle..?

My conure (1 yr old) started scratching his head in February.
I visited vet for medicine since March and applied neck collar two weeks ago.
However,,I'm worried if the follicle is already damaged and irreversible...

Please give me some advice if anyone has similar experience..

What did the vet give you to medicate with?
What did the vet think was the cause of the scratching?
