All of my conures tail feathers were plucked out, as I was getting up from my chair he ran under my foot before I put it down and his tail feathers got trapped underneath and as he tried to fly away his feathers went right with it. I checked, no blood at all just gaping holes where the feathers were plucked. What do I do? Will they grow back!? HELP

A vet visit seems in order in my opinion

How is he acting? Eating and playing as usual/normal?
If a wild bird get catch from another animal they have a self protection to release all their tail feathers so that they can get away.
I guess that is what happened, but I don't understand when you say that they where plucked.

If he only did release them for self protection they will grow back pretty fast. 2- 3 weeks. And if he act normal you don't need to see the vet.
You can help him now with giving him more protein.

Thank you, both of you! He's acting the same, but a little bit tired this morning as I kept on checking on him throughout the night.
What is the best way to get extra protein in his diet?

They'll come back, does he like scramble eggs? A little bit won't hurt and it's good protein.

Is this true of all birds?

@Annebird I hope your baby is okay!

I've never tried eggs! My guy is regularly a pretty finicky eater so we'd have to hope

I'm so glad you didn't step om his body! Thank goodness! I too have heard about tail feather release on AA but have no first hand experience with it.
