My boy buddy has been sleeping while being fluffed up a lot since yesterday. Whenever I get the feeling one of my birds might be sick I put them on the scale to see if they lost weight. Buddy has had a weight of around 80g. But he eats the same diet as everyone else. So yesterday is weight was at 75g. So I gave him a few nutri berries so he has at least something in his system and also some seeds. Just to make sure he's eating. Their normal diet is chop, sometimes salad, egg, rice (one of my tiels has been a rescue and the only way she eats something that isn't a seed mix is if it contains rice) and pellets.
He ate them quite fast and also went for the seeds. Today I put him on the scale again, his weight 70g. ??? So I put him a mix of seeds and pellets in front of him. He touched his food for a few seconds but then contains sleeping. When I put some water in front of him he attacked it. So he's still willing to fight. He also was sitting on a perch that I put in front of a window, so he can get some sunlight and was sleeping there for a while. His poop looks normal and there is also no other sign of illness except for him sleeping all fluffed up. He does occasionally fly to a new location to sleep at. Now he's sleeping next to me on my bed with a blanket around him (not a heavy one). One of my other tiels definitely has noticed that he ain't doing well and has been watching him. The others are just going on with their lifes.

I can hear his belly making like sounds occasionally. But only when he's next to me. Like the sound we humans have sometimes too.

The thing is, I'm in germany. So Easter has closed down everything till tuesday. And with everything I mean stores and according to google every avian vet. Like I ain't kidding. Went on google "closed, closed, closed, closed". I don't really know what to do at this point. I put a plate with a mix of pellets, seeds, the last nutri berries, cooked rice and a bowl with water and a drop of apple vinegar next to him. He does occasionally go to the food but doesn't eat much. One of my other cockatiels on the other hand had a blast with both the water and food (thought maybe he'll eat when he sees them eat)

So what else can I do? I have a heath lamp that was used when we had turtles and is like warm and stuff. Could I use that for him? Anything else to keep him going till I find a vet that is open?
Google also did a bad joke on me suggesting me a vet that would've been prefect, but is 6 hours away and in a different state... How high is the chance that he just has like tummy pain or something? I mean I occasionally feel like I'm passing away from my stomach being a little B***

(Also I have saved around 1000 Euro just for vet visits, so it really is the holiday and the vets all being closed that is the problem)

ok while I was writing this buddy pooped on my shirt, flew away and went to eat. ??? Should I be concerned? I mean at least he's eating now, so that's positive I guess.
(just to make it clear he isn't tamed so he being ok by being next to me sleeping is like not a normal thing)

Went on google "closed, closed, closed, closed".
Are any of those vets hospitals? Look for vets that are "hospital"s or that will house sick animals and care for them. Even though it is easter, they will have a vet tech in caring for the hospitalised animals. You can try calling the numbers, seeing if there is out of hour emergency contact info on the answering machine, or if it goes through, try and explain best you can what's happening.

I would place him in a small cage or crate & keep him warm until you can get him to a vet. This will help him to maintain energy that is required to keep his system going & digest any food he may eat. Also try soft mashed foods like sweet potato or scrambled egg. Make sure he has water 24/7.

Even though all the vets are closed it is worth calling every number you can- they often have a recording set up with a number for an emergency vet. All our vets are closed too but I have seen on FB over the last two days five people from different areas who all got help from an after hours vet for their dogs and cats being bitten by a snake. Always worth calling every number you can find.

The problem is, that the ones that are emergency right now ain't able do help. Each time it was with my finches and one got told "yeah sorry, seems like a nerve disorder, can't help him" after just looking at him. The other time they wanted to send me away cause birds ain't dogs or cats. It's just that my complete area is like dogs and cats specialised. I ain't kidding, they'd just make a guess looking at my boy and I would lose 100 Euro on that guess. If he was a dog or a cat or even a hose, this all would be no struggle. Every vet in the area is dedicated to those. Even a bunny or a guinea pig has more luck getting a vet today. But somehow bird is a unknown species for them all.

I've put a heat lamp over him and made sure he got some source of warmth all the time. Sadly I don't have sweet potato. But I put some seed and pellets into the copper and added some rice and he at some point ate from that. He ain't doing better, but he also hasn't gotten worse. So first thing tomorrow will be the vet.
