Birdie is an Alexandrine at one of the other Foster Homes in the rescue. He has always been delightful with my wife and I, landing on our shoulders to say hi, I love his pick-up lines. I did not appreciate the species enough until I met him.

The topic of sexing and birds is such a conundrum, the longer I know them the less I care whether they are a he or she. Seems the folks that have them change their mind every other week unless they've been tested. I'm gonna have to look at whether Male Alexandrine's have a slight ring around their neck, I think I recall that now...

I think Birdie is female since there is no ring present. Unless this is a very young bird.

I just looked a few up and you're right, I was duped! I'll be very proud to get her back on the right side of the pronoun fence (his/her).

She is not young so you're right the neck ring is the dead giveaway.

What a cutie. I would say female too. Sounds a lot like George (female too). Not cuddly or hands on but loves to be on your shoulder and hang out. I think Alex's are fabulous.
