My jenday is 9 years old. Used to let me pet him, cuddle with him on the couch gave me kisses. He shares a cage with our cockatiel. They have shared a cage for 8+ years. He normally is very sweet to our cockatiel and cleanes her feathers. Lately he has been attacking her. Attacking me and shreading The paper on the bottom of the cage through the bottom grate. Today I was trying to work with him with some carrots on the floor. He went after me and got my thumb and wouldn't let go. He drew blood. I put him back in his cage and shut the door. Any thoughts?

He might be getting a bit hormonal or he could not be feeling well. Has he been to the vet lately? I would separate him from your cockatiel for now.

Definitely separate the birds. Your Hand at could easily seriously injure or kill your cockatiel.
