Adoption process has begun!

Well I heard back from the (relatively) local bird rescue and the adoption process is underway. I'm a flood of emotions but mostly happy. This has not been an easy decision after I lost my African Grey a few years ago. The rescue has several 7 year old cockatiels who need good homes and I hope I can be that home for 2 of them. My bf surprised me with a belated bday present of a great second hand cage and I spent this weekend cleaning it up and getting it ready. It's an A&E elegant flight cage. Does anyone here have that cage?

Sometime this week all my toy parts arrive and I can start making some fun toys to add and have lots of backups too. I ordered a rope swing and some other natural wood perches but I plan on making my own rope and some wood perches soon too so I have plenty of those to swap around.

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to go and see who they have in a couple of weeks, but they've already thrown me a curve ball. In addition to the tiels there's an older African Grey so now I'm torn. Not sure who will be coming home with me.

Agreed You Will make the right choice! I love both greys and Tiels, I think my next bird(in probably at least 10 years lol!) is going to be one/two of them But he knows what life throws at us

Remember both species are dusty birds so if you have allergies make sure to get a good air filtration system like Rabbit air.
