hi, can you please tell me how many tablespoons of sunflower seeds should i feed daily my african grey? we dont have pellets here in my country, so i can only offer him sunflower seeds beside vegetables and fruits

Are you certain there aren't any pellets available? What country are you in?

I would really advise against feeding many sunflower seeds to your Grey. Sunflowers are high in fat - it'd be like feeding a child chips and candy.

It's not really a good thing to feed a bird lots of sunflower seeds. They're not that healthy for our feathered friends.
Do you have a friend over here in the states? Could he/she send you pellets?

Feeding some sunflower seeds are fine and birds usually love them. But they can be high in fat. So all sunflower seeds isn't usually good. You can also feed safflower seeds, oat groats, millet, flax seed, pumpkin seeds, cashews, almonds, pecans, etc

Hi, dura. We recently had another member with a grey and no access to pellets in their country. Perhaps some of the advice given in this thread would be of use to you as well.

Basic grocery store items.
