Hi. My 15 year old cockatiel’s bottom beak has been growing abnormally.(picture attached) Just wondering if this is something that can be cured and if so, is it going to be costly? On a tight budget but worse comes to worse, I will find the money to pay for her treatment.

Is she still active and chewing?
I am leaning towards yes due to the top portion not being overgrown as well

What is her diet like?
i also want to preface by saying I understand sometimes we get rescue birds etc that just won’t convert to better diets
But if she is eating a high fat diet, beak deformities like this can relate to liver disease

At 15, especially if this is a new development, abnormal beak growth can be a sign of an underlying health issues, such as liver disease.

I would also ask what kind of diet is she on?
