I find Zane running around so cute too. Echo's very good with Zane. Zane can be a bit needy at times so they have a really interesting and sweet relationship.

Yep it is an Aviator. Echo's really about putting it on, taking it off is the tricky part.

Yeah we think so but it's hard to say for sure. We think we know who dumped him. There was a guy who wanted to sell a bird who sounded like Zane. My friend was running a rescue at the time. The person who wanted to sell a bird to her was in area where Zane was found. After Zane was found the guy no longer had a bird to sell. Anyway according to that guy the bird was in his 60s. He had inherited the bird from his mother. That was over 10 years now. I don't trust a guy who throw a bird in a dumpster. So it really hard to say for sure.

He was in pretty bad shape when he was found. His feet were all messed up and according to one vet he had arthritis in them. But then later on another vet said he didn't and there was no real way to know his age. I tend to believe what the second vet said. He shows some signs of being older but he still has lots of energy... It so hard to say but I definitely feel he's older.

He has come along way in his recovery He's doing so well now except of course his self mutilating

@Sarahmoluccan It always amazes me and makes me so grateful that these birds can forgive humanity. I'm not a Cockatoo fan, but I really think that Zane is a special guy.
