A More active, Much happier Russian Tortoise

I was so worried he would die, but look at him. His shell is almost transparent due to the lack of normal shell growth. The UVB and Calcium was non existent and the maggot food..Just disgusting. He is now much more active and eating well today. I caught some good pictures of him in his food eating.

love all of your turtle/tortoise pics!!

they are so much fun to watch eating - we have a 'yard turtle' (plain, garden variety box turtle) that lives in our yard and shows up at feeding time for 'his' portion.

I am just fascinated with the big guys you have, thanks for the pics.
