I'm searching for information on a Yellow nape Amazon that I rescued. Band reads:
Bev ga 99 1008. The GA & 99 are sideways so assuming that she's from Georgia and hatched in 99 she's roughly 18-20 years old.

Picture is from the night we brought her home first time I was able to handle her and 2nd time I'd ever seen her (we suspect that she's one I raised for a family many years ago but need to id the band as I can't find my records and haven't had any bird's in over 15 years)
2 vet appointments later nails & wings clipped. Including an avian specialist vet appointment, she's at least 40 g under weight, greasy feathers, dirty, has a respiratory infection and were waiting for stool sample results. Waiting to do blood work depending upon if she improves with a clean environment, clean food & water.

Thank you for adopting this bird and getting her the care she needed. You can check this list and see if any of the breeders listed in Georgia might be the one. They may or may not still be breeding birds but several of them have Amazons listed.

So far she's proven to be quite the easy bird. She loves her showers too. No bad habits including biting, swearing or screaming.
I've messaged every breeder in Georgia who I can find I'd like to find out if they are still breeding, but even more because of a fire I lost many of my old records and because I was raising parrots for other families we're curious as to if she was one of mine, her age and location of the family before where I got her from both match and she makes noises like I would try to teach early on.
Hopefully eventually we'll find an answer.

Could someone help me figure out this leg band stuff? I adopted a green cheek from a rescue lady who took him in from a young couple who had gotten him at a local petsmart store. Its an open band, purple, and im not sure how to group the numbers together but straight across its A11622 im pretty sure. I want to find out where he is from, or at least when his hatch year and what not. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is new to me. Thanks so much!

If he is from Petsmart it's likely that he is from Barney's Birds located in Chino. They get a lot of their birds from there. There is another source, too, Hawaiian something or other. Petsmart usually provides papers. Check with the rescue and find out if the couple gave them any paperwork. Open band is generally a bird who has been imported and that stopped in 1992. So I very much doubt he is imported. The band was probably added when his foot/leg had already grown too large to slip on a closed band. I would contact Petsmart if I were you and see if they can pull up any information.

Welcome to AA, btw. Post in the Welcome Lane section and let us know more about your conure.

Trying to find out more about my Macaw rescue that I've had for 6 years now but im having some trouble. The previous owner wasn't much help as far as info goes and no paperwork exists. I would like to know her hatch date and verify her age if possible. I'm really glad this post exists and its an evolving list.

Her band info: NC(sideways) TLB 007.

EDL may be Linville Aviary in Florida

Thank you!! Looks like Cottermans may be out of business?? Was told this one was about a year old, however may be closed before that.
I sent Linville an email. :)

Heard back from Linville with a hatch date. Older than we were told. Not that it matters. :)

For no particular reason, I am trying to figure out the origin of this band. Only one of my two girls is banded at all, and I have a rough idea of the breeder she came from, but not certain that's her origin.

The band is gold in color and, from what I could tell when I looked it (out of cage): B4A (then a symbol/sideways letters?) 96

I can't tell if those are letters, like the state, or if that's just an odd mark on the band. My best guess was that it may be IL

We have received a bird into our shelter which appears to be a red color mutation Amazon. Through much research, we're pretty sure it's a red-mutation Yellow-Nape. A gorgeous and unique bird to be sure. His background is "relatively" known, but we can't get in contact with his original owner. I'm hoping to get some information about his background via his band, assuming the breeder is still around. I didn't see the ID on here or on any Google searches, so I'm hoping you guys maybe have a rabbit you can pull out of your hat ... the band starts with "YCH"

I'd be interested in any ideas you might have!

Bob
