Yes, he opens doors. You can lock him out if you don't mind the trim being removed while you pee.

Lurch insisted plopping on me to ride into the bathroom. He didn't care what I might be needing to do he knew the magic water faucet lived there and he wanted to drink and play in the water. Once I figured that out he stopped biting my neck and would wait patiently for me to allow him to run down to the water. Luckily he didn't know how to open doors or dismantle trim.
