Hahaha! I have no idea why she likes hanging out on her back, usually her feet are balled up lol I didn’t even see the creepy claw

Her crop was the last place to get feathers in, I’m not sure why, but she’s all feathered now except for her little armpits (wing pits?)



I like female pronouns pending a DNA test, the s/he and his/her bit was getting exhausting and “it” is just too harsh for my liking.

She really is stunning, I am loving watching her develop!

Glad they grew in fine. I wonder why it was like that. Yea, I notice under the wing is the last to come in, and then be preened.

I go for He. I suppose we all have our preference. I have seen others say She. I also don´t like ¨It¨. @Karnkate was the most interesting, she called her bird They. He is now DNA´d male. I liked that pronoun, I thought it was a good way to avoid ¨It¨ without calling a certain gender.
I am uncertain of Sydneys sex but I call him he because he has more male traits than female. But maybe one day I will be surprised I do check his bed regularly for eggs.

Why thank you! They’re very good! I think they’re starting to lose interest in the nest and have been hanging out on top of it and having very rousing conversations with Jules I tried to remove the box yesterday and was promptly bitten and chased off haha I’m thinking I should have just yanked it, but I really don’t want to stress them out. I also don’t want to damage my relationship with them, it’s almost been a month since I’ve had them and they’re finally coming around to me I’m going to get some more millet for the wee one tomorrow and see if I can’t bribe them a bit

If the chick is no longer in the nest, I´d just whip it away. Maybe do it after you have the millet so you can offer some goodies afterwards as compensation

Bug was so good at the vet today! I just love this place, the doc asked if she could take Bug into the back because everyone wanted to play with him Bug has a clean bill of health and is officially approved to transition into a big bird cage!

No bribery millet today They are painting the car ports and I didn’t want to risk having to park a mile away and walk home in the 45° heat, so after Bug’s appointment I had to snag one of the very scarce uncovered spots and stay put.
